The Eternal Flame

There are many mysteries this life holds. There are many questions people have that they may spend their life searching for the answer. The bible gives us answers to many of life's questions like, where do we come from? Why do we suffer? What is our purpose? And what happens when we die. There are many answers the bible provides us to many of life's hard questions.

But what is life? And how much time do we really have? As human beings our lives are delicate and fraile like the flicker of a flame. Living here in this temporal existence our lives burns away like a candle only for a period of time. At some point in this system of things our lives must come to an end. But even a candle can not stay lit forever.

The time that we live in right now is brief -and in God's eyes may last only a few days -although to us on earth feels like an eternity. But it is important to understand just how fraile life really is -once a candle light is blown out -its light is out for good.

But the hope of glory we have today is what God did to Jesus' candle -when his light was blown out, God relit his candle and transformed Him into the eternal match that ignites the flame of our blown out candles. When this happens our candle is not made with a material that burns away to nothing. No -this time our candle is created with a special kind of wax -the kind of wax that will burn forever. How wonderful that will be to know that once our light goes out -it will be relit to last forever.

Because Jesus' purpose was to save us all from destruction and ignite our flames once again -His candle can never be destroyed. Our candles will be made perfect allowing our light to shine brightly forever. However the possibility to have a dim light will still be possible based on our choices. But if we decide to allow our candle light to become dim -God will not hesitate to put our light our forever -never to be relit again. And we all have the same chance to have our lights shine with Christ for eternity.

So as the bible says, the days are evil -we must not waist time. We are in the last days of this corrupt system of things that we live in. God is ready to put this time to an end -so that we can finally fulfill God's vision for the descendants of Adam and Eve -mankind will live forever on earth (a new heaven and earth the way God intended it to be) in paradise!
